Belle Epoque or Party Like It's 1899

This one is my ABSOLUTE favorite. It's inspired by Alphonse Mucha, one of my favorite artists. I really love the Art Nouveau style.

These are my favorite looks on the plate. I have NO IDEA why I put them in the background.

A backless sundress. A little safe, but it matched the set.

Sweet & Sour Chicks

Another purple one, it's not as 'pretty' as the first purple one but I love the horizontal pleats. I poured salt on the wet watercolor to get the texture on the fabric. It was an interesting experiment.

Evil Stepmother

Full Disclosure: this plate had 5 figures like all the rest, but I edited them out in favor of the ones I thought were best. It feels like it's missing something, though, like I picked a favorite child.

This is a pretty vague inspiration, but it's German fairy tales! It's all gingerbread houses and innocent kids about to be eaten by this witch:

I also did not post an 1800s circus inspired plate. 'Twas for the best. I will also NEVER post a Lawrence of Arabia inspired plate. 'Suppose that look could come back though, complete with the sun dried, leathery man- skin sported by the protagonist.

Where's Henry's sixth wife?

My first time drawing real people on a plate! I took my ink pen/ watercolor thing and decided to do *shocking* actual patterns! I love patterns!

Metropolis!

This is one I love because of what it taught me. I stopped painting in one color and doing the details in another. I dipped a pen in watercolor to do the lines, and had to get control over both the pen and the water flowing from the tip. It worked well with the metallic paint.

Lotus Garden

I wanted to do something pretty, so this was fun to do. It was perfect for the purple plate (My high school color scheme was green, orange, and purple. I think I did well matching the colors to the inspiration.)
